Which SD card to get??? Any to stay away from?

Just picked up the hot deal on the Panasonic 2mp 12x optical stabilized camera that takes SD and I'v never owned any SD cameras.

Is there a superior SD card to get for camera's?

TIA

They're not the fastest in the world. However, you bought a 2mp camera. File sizes on those pictures aren't going to be huge.

how would i know if it is fast or slow? it is the only card i have for my camera
it takes pictures

do i need to put a supercharger in my camera? maybe some nitro? it is just taking pictures, not sure how fast/slow the sd card is really matters in the big picture (pun, hehe)

Dane-electric any good?

yes file size not as big as my G2's 🙂 In CF I, used fast and slow media and I like the fast 😀

BS

the sandisk ulta 2 CF cards are the best out there

I have sandisk Smart Media Cards and they are fast and stable

i would expect the SD cards to be the same

kinda overkill isnt it?

i didnt realize that the A80 would benefit from that speed CF card

Cool if it does, cause man it is fast

heh it was only like 50 bucks. guess we shall see 🙂

i am a camera noob. i just saw how fast is was and was like why not.

Just try and stay away from Lexar's new packaging, link. The price wasn't bad, but man why do they need to put an sd card in such a huge blisterpack.

SD's are a horrible, untested technology. Go read any message board and you will see numerous reports of failure. Utter failure. All your data gone, for no apparent reason. When is the last time you have seen that happen with CF?

So the best bet is just to find out which one has the worst track record and stay away. I'd say Panasonic = good. Sandisk = bad. But you can find more info at Brighthand.
