Which screw is best for the motherboard?

both screws fit, both are about same length.. the black looks like washer was molded onto it.. the silver has a lose metal washer..

heard some guy fried his P180 using wrong screw from Antec and they have instructions, but akasa, the maker of my case.. no instructions for screws.

Would either be ok, neither, or which?

match up the standoff threading (fine thread, course thread) with the screws you have.

Dont use coarse thread screws on fine thread posts, and vice versa.

Solder? I arc weld that thing.

I agree with Mindflux. One thing I have found helps with many projects is to first try to screw the screw into the standoff without the motherboard there. You should not have to force it in. If it does fit, then you won't risk dethreading anything should you use that screw. As it stands, I would probably use the silver screw with the loose metal washer.

I should check the see which screws that fits with the standoffs without any hassle. Each cases (of any brands) are different w/ the screws that they came with... so it's YMMV

It was not too many years ago that we always used fiber washers between the screw heads and the mobo surface - just in case a printed line got too near the screw. QC is now better, and that is no longer necessary.

Yeah - just make sure the right threads are matched. I would not use screws with built in metal washers. Those could overlap a printed circuit. The smaller the head, the better.
