Which school for Comp Sci(undergraduate) would you pick? [poll]

r these school you plan on attending, or schools that you think have good comp sci programs?

These are schools I plan on attending if my reach schools fall through (Cornell University and Carnegie Mellon).

UMCP because it's close enough for a daily commute. Albeit a VERY FRICKIN FRUSTRATING daily commute, since you have to battle both Baltimore and DC traffic to get there from here. Saves money that way.

I would put them all in the same category in overall reputation-wise... maybe IIT lower.

I think College Park is actually a top-ranked graduate computer science school.

RIT. But you have to be willing to forego the normal college schedual and take up the trimester gig.

from ur options, UMCP is the best,

IIT and RIT as OK at best

any other suggestions then?

are you open to go to college at any state?

wat ru sat scores/gpa ?

obviously for CS
CMU, MIT,Stan, Cal are the best, but they arent easy to get into

Illinois (UIUC) and Michigan (ann arbor) have excellent engineering programs too and might not be as hard to get into as the top 4

I go to RIT, i heard the comp sci program is really good. 10-week quarters are a lot more work, and the professors in that program really lay it on.

BTW, if you go to RIT, be prepared to be really really cold in the winter. The girl/guy ratio used to be pretty bad but now it seems like girls/guy ratio is 50/50. too bad i aint a freshman no more 😉

SAT is a 1420- 670 Verbal, 750 Math
Avg is a ~99

I'm already applying to CMU as a reach school.

I would recommend for you to go to the school with the best overall recommendation if the money is equal for all of the schools. I wouldn't focus too much on individual engineering reputations for an undergraduate school as much as I would look at it for graduate schools.

i should drop dead over the fact that you mentioned SD over UCI... only uc to have cs as a school rather than a department.
