My favorite Scanners are made by Epson (Cannon 2nd) so see if the EPSON
Model Perfection 3490 is available in that price range...

I have Epson wide format scanner off eBay. Best scanner, I ever used. Used Umax, Microtek and HP. Here's a link you should check out.
