Which SAT2 to take? Physics or US History?

I'll be taking ap physics this year, but I've already taken US History this summer. I'm leaning toward history cause it's just facts right?

I took US History and thought it was challenging b/c the material we stressed in class, wasn't what the exam stressed. I only ended up getting a 650 on it which I was dissapointed with.

If I had to go back I would have taken the physics instead.

I guess it just depends what your strengths are -- I tend to be bad with rote memorization. Hence why I am majoring in math and engineering with a minor in physics now in college, hehe.

G'luck to you.

Depending on what year you're in high school, can't you just take both? If you plan on taking AP physics this year, maybe you could just take SAT2 physics towards the end of the coming school year. Unless you're going to get a senior... then never mind. I'd take history personally, its not too hard or different from AP US if you've taken that class. But good luck in either case.

And if you've got extra tests to take, you could always try your hand at Hebrew.

US History was a breeze.. The AP test for US History was much harder than the SAT II test.

dunno what the SAT would be asking, but from gutfeeling: definately physics - much easier, u just have to undertsand not memorize (useless facts like name and term of ALL US presidents) off course if u have to memorize all the formulas u will be using physics can be hard too (but a test requiring to memorize formulas - is stupid, u just have to understand how to apply the laws, for memorizing there are formula collections)

Definitely Physics, just thinking about sitting for History for 1-2 hours gives me the creeps:p

Hm, now that I think about it, it might be better to take physics since it'll sorta tie in with the ap test so I'll only have to study once...:) heh
Thanks everyone!

history was pretty easy, i got a 760. The ap test, on the other hand, sucked. I got a 3 :(

most colleges don't even require it.

Because he's probably looking at schools that do require it. Mine did.

see i don't get it because i got a 5 on the AP exam but only a 670 on the SAT II.

and the UC's require the SAT II. many private schools i applied to asked for them also.

I got a 740 on the SAT II and a 2 on the AP.. and I took the SAT II a year later.. go figure.

I'd just look at it compared to what you think you're best at? A science guy > go for the Physics. If you're better at comprehension and concepts than names and dates (like I am), I'd tend to say go for the Physics. I got 5 on both those APs so I was pretty confident going in (and then I choose Chemistry on the SAT II for some wild reason), but I know people who got a 3 on the US History and did much better relatively on the SAT (mid 700s).
