What is on your table? Regular iodized? Kosher? Sea salt? Himalayan pink?

Some kind of sea salt. I also have pink salt in the cabinet. It tastes better to me than industrial salt like Mortons. Might be in my head, but refined salt seems to have a "sharper" taste :shrugs:

I prefer mined salt myself. We've polluted the oceans but haven't polluted the salt domes.

Well... For measuring into baked goods, etc., iodized, for meat and whenever the pinches of salt should be visible and easy to handle, Kosher, and for seasoning food on the plate or into things like sauces that are getting "seasoned to taste," Himalayan.

That's something I've considered. It would be interesting to see a full analysis of salt from Brittany. It doesn't get much more exposed to human activity than that.

Fleur del sel is my favorite salt. This sea salt I have is from France and is about $45 /lb. I use it as finish dipping salt for KBBQ. Fleur del sel is considered the caviar of sea salt.

Malden sea salt or sal de Anana (which is from this really cool Roman salt works!)

http://www.vallesalado.com/Sal-gourmet-de-Anana
I've almost bought Malden a few times. My problem is I like the idea of salt more than I like salt. I don't use much of it, but I like the different colors/shapes of crystals and production methods. If I bought every salt that caught my eye, I'd have enough for three lifetimes :^D

Sea salt, no reason, I just decided to try it the last time I bought salt. I do like the taste more. I probably have enough to last me several life times.
