Im looking for an s939 mobo.

I will not be overclocking so this is not an issue.

I would like a board with both good stock performance and good troubleshooting features (due to hairy experiences I have had in the past) but most importantly rock solid stability.

I first thought of the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard but now Im staying well clear due to problems with the 90nm cpus.

Second thought was the Epox EP-9NPA+ nForce4 (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard but apparently its strengths were overclocking which is not important to me, I would also like a board with a few more features than this, spending an extra £30 or so is also not particularly important either since I do not upgrade often at all (~6 years since last upgrade )

Now Im sorta thinking about a gigabyte or asus. But cant seem to find any definitive info on them.

The only must is IDE support which I think is standard on most boards.

Any feedback/opinions/advice much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that Asus is the best for stability and not OCing.

Exactly, but you can get some good clocks with that board as well, just not EXTREME clocks. I"d stick with ASUS.
