just playing with the thought of a "budget" upgrade to dual core...i have a S939 dfi lanprty nf4 right now and a A64 3500 OCed stable to 2607.

If i want dual-core...what X2 would be best in terms of eg. MAYBE reaching the same overclockability ? I see there are two, manchester and Toledo.

Is it reasonable to expect an X2 to overlock to 2600...2700 or maybe even more on Air comparable to my old A64 winchester ?

One core just doesnt cut it and especially if games come out like "Alan Wake"...if i had the money i'd go with Intel Duo....but i have to see.

My Manchester overclocks to 2.7 with a little extra juice (core voltage at 1.42v). I haven't tried going higher. I read a few months ago that Manchesters tended to overclock slightly better than Toledos, possibly because of the larger cache in post4200+ Toledos. Dunno if that is still the case though.
