Klatu,
The Hawking Router is generally rated very slow from the reviews on the web (I haven't tried this one)
I'm on @home and I've tried 3 routers: Linksys BEFSR41, The SMC Baracade 4 port and the Netgear RT314 (Currently have). The Linksys router is very fast and very easy to set up but I had constant (1 to 3 times per day) disconnects that required a router reset with the reset button. The SMC router was solid but seemed very slow compared to the Linksys router. The Netgear router is a pain to set up and can be confusing, but the speed is very good and its been up for 6 weeks without as much as a hiccup, much less than a required reset. Very solid and I would recommend it on this fact alone. The setup interface and firmware update procedure suck, but the product is a better option than the other 2 for it's stability.
/Edit: The "Setup is a pain" for the Netgear RT314 is a comparison to the other 2 routers listed above which have a web page setup as compared to the Telnet setup of the Netgear. Some of the term's of the Netgear don't necessarily suggest a clear choice and the filter sets I haven't even begun to try to understand yet.
Good luck
