Go to practicallynetworked.com. Look at the user feedbacks for owners of the various routers. Netgear users have over 90% satisfaction rate. Linksys has many reported problems. The SMC Barricade, which is virtually the same as the D-link DI-704 except it has a print server, is also a good option.

One more vote for the SMC 7008BR. It has more features than you can shake a stick at, and SMC has very impressive tech support (whenever I call, within 5 minutes I am speaking to a qualified technician - i.e., not reading from a manual or checklist)

Simple answer: Unless you have an exotic config, any of the current routers will work great.

You want pure speed-Netgear/314 has been tested the fastest-(not a huge margin tho)
You want a cool print server option-SMC

Other than these tiny details all the current routers are winners. The firmware has come along-way, so MOST if not all the problems have been corrected...

Opps, forgot to mention i have the Netgear/314 connected to the Linksys EFSP42 combo print server/4port switch, my home network just rocks...
