A follow up question on an earlier post!

The base of the system I am putting together"

AMD ATHLON 64 3200
MSI k8t neo-fis2r Mobo
MSI ATI 9800 pro
Kingwin 420 4 fan PSU

Now the question...should I go with OCZ Platinum EL dual 3200 DDR 400..2x512

OR

Should I stick to a "value" memory?? It was mentioned in a different post that the OCZ memory might not be needed for this setup, might be a $$$ waste when a good value memory will come very close in performance?
And what IS a value memory?? (sorry for the noobism)
 
I have a very similar system to the one that you describe in your post. It's been said many times that buying expensive LL memory is a waste of money on the A64 platform since value memory will often run as well. However, many others have also said that it is vital that you run your memory at a 1T command rate for performance with A64.

So, the only thing I can say for sure is that I've been happy with my A64 3200 and "value memory" thus far and have been able to nicely play anything I've wanted.
