I have these choices:

Corsair XMS w/ black H/S pC 2700 1 G, 2-3-3-6

Corsair VS PC 3200 1 G,Cas Latency: 3

Mushkin Blue Line PC 3200 1 G, Cas Latency: 2.5-4-4

my system:

AMD Athon "Barton" unlocked 2500+ running at 202.5x11, MSI KT6 LSR Delta mobo, currently running 2x256 Kingmax PC 3200 at 202.5 x 2, 3-3-3-9

advice would be of much help

i just saw a killer deal over at newegg.com if you want really cheap memory

265mb geil pc3500 for $47 bucks

i havn't heard anyone talk about it
but they rate it up to 2.95v so it might overclock well
the timings are 2.5-3-3-6

i might get some myself

Since you're running an AMD system find any PC3200 that has a CAS2 rating.
The higher frequency rams have loose timings which won't help an AMD system as much as a higher FSB P4 system.
Corsair makes some excellent CAS2 PC3200 ram.

SoulKeeper,
I have 4 (256) GEIL PC4000 in my system now. Good stuff.
One thing though, It won't run CAS2 stable at any setting, even down to 166 Mhz speeds.
Good thing though is it DOES run at 2.5 CAS at 250MHz Sweet for a P4 at 1:1 ratio :)

Well if you are on a budget you can always go for Geil Dual Channel 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3500 $179 2.5-3-3-6. These will easily run 200 (400mhz) @ 2-3-3-6 @ 2.8V.

I would personally keep the Kingmax ram you have since going from 3-3-3-9 to 2-3-3-6 will maybe give you 5-10% improvement. I think you can retain dual channel by just getting extra 1 stick of 512mb and running slots 1,2 Kingmax and slot 3 512mb RaM. I am not really sure if completely replacing your old 512mb ram with brand new 1gb is worth it considering the price increase which is double against just geting 1 extra stick of 512 and losing 5-10% tops.

But its up to you.

Okay, first of all, I haven't heard of anyone even able to get Geil ram to boot at all in an nForce2 board. The only people who've had any luck with it are the people with P4 systems. Corsair XMS is the best, but it's really expensive. OCZ is just as good, and costs WAY less. Here's a link to some low-latency 512mb sticks of OCZ PC3200 that runs at 2-3-2-6 for $105 each, no shipping: link. I'm planning on buying a couple of them myself, so you better not get the last two!:D

is the corsair xms worth considering then even though its PC 2700.Also my mobo manual says that it will support only 4 banks of PC 3200 ram which is 2 modules so maybe if I get an extra 512 MB it wont work on the machine.

I was unaware of such wide incompatibility issues of Geil Ram with Nforce 2 motherboards. Thanks for clarifying that for me since I was going to buy some for my upcoming Athlon system upgrade for an upcoming NF7 board....

With that considered, OCZ for 105 is looking real real good.
