I just built workstation for the inlaws with ECS board with Crucial 2100 128mb DDR. I pick the cheapest one. System is running fine, no probs.
Here are my specs if helps
Latest Bios
15 gig Maxtor 7200 rpm
Voodoo 3000 AGP
128 mb Crucial 2100 cheap DDR ram
using onboard sound
300 Watt Swapmeet special case, i don't even think the powersupply is AMD approved
using onboard NIC
ZOOM PCI win modem
1 gightz 266mhz
Volcano 5 heatsink and fan.

Get the cheaper. My understanding is just that "Registered" has guarenteed values, which means a more extensive testing procedure.
