I wanna overclock my Athlon Xp 2400+(non-mobile ;() before i upgrade my cpu and motherboard which gonna happen in few months.
I wanna get a good pc 3200 ram so later on I can use it with my new cpu-P4 2.8C!

Shoul I buy:
2 sticks of Geil Ultra Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 - OEM or 2 stick of Geil Ultra Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 w/ Platinum Heat Spreader - Retail or Geil Dual Channel 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - Retail or 2 stick of OCZ Enhanced Latency Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 or 2 stick of OCZ Performance Series 184 Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200 or OCZ Enhanced Latency Series Dual Channel Platinum 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 - OEM or OCZ Enhanced Latency Series Dual Channel Optimized 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3200 ??

Or maybe I shoul go with pc3500 memory? I would be better for OC the P4 2.8C but it seems way too fast for overclocking Athlon XP 2400...
In this case the only ram with low Cas Latency in the similar price range is OCZ Dual Channel Optimized 184 Pin 512MB(256MBx2) DDR PC-3500.

So which of th e above do you gys recommend me to buy. Any help appreciated!!:D

You didn't say what motherboard you have now. It makes a difference, because not all nForce2 motherboards will let you use Geil ram. If you don't have an nForce2 mobo, I would recommend the Geil, because it's better for going past it's "rated" speed than OCZ is.

If you are going to get a p4 board then get some high speed 4000 or 4200 ram from corsair or mushkin.

The problem is that i just can spend more then 130-140 $ and I'm not gonna overclock P4 2.8c very seriously ... maybe to about 3.3 or 3.4 not more ... i don't want it to die after one year of usage...

So whci memory is the bost of those that i named in my post??

well first off, you aren't going to kill of a p4 by overclocking it like that. with the 2.8C's that are shipping currently you could do 3.6-3.8ghz on air without ever having to worry about it dying ever.

If you stick with the p4p800, don't waste money on anything over pc3200, since you will more than likely have to run the memory with a divider anyway since most of those boards don't like high 1:1 overclocks. If you want a good board that will do over 300mhz 1:1 get the p4c800 E. It is a much better board. Plus the p4p800 is very finicky with memory.

of those you posted I would go with the ocz pc3200 platinum http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-895&depa=1

The OCZ EL Platinum, since you have an A7N8X. Geil overclocks better, but you're going to be stuck with ~185 fsb, if you buy Geil and try to use it with that A7N8X.;)

Think MHZ over Timings bud. If you are going to be oc'ing that P4C up to 250mhz FSB+....you are going to want to get PC4000. CL2-222 timings look good....but wont perform as good as your memory running at 500mhz+. Even with the fastest PC3200 RAM on the market...you won't be able to outperform PC4000 using 1:1 timings. Just a suggestion for the future OC'ing!

1GB of PC3500 OCZ EB will run ya over $300+........1GB of PC4000 Kingston HyperX will run ya a little over $200. I guarantee higher performance out of the 500mhz+ if you can run a 1:1 ratio.
