Which RAM module is a better buy? Comparing latancy and memory speed.

First link is 1333mhz cas 9

Second is 1066 cas 7

For server use, whichever one is on the mobo's QVL, after that you won't notice a difference for a sandbox server

Ok yeah now I see what the QVL is, thanks.

The main reason why I posted this question is does a module with higher speed and higher latency still perform better thank a low latency low speed RAM?

low latency is faster.
Yes but CAS timings aren't the same as latency.

For 1333MHz DDR3 CAS 9 your actual latency is around 13.5ns
For 1066MHz DDR3 CAS 7 your actual latency is around 13.1ns

However 1333MHz has a higher top theoretical bandwidth of 21gb/s vs 17gb/s for 1066MHz.

So since the actual latency is very very close, you'd probably be better off with 1333MHz since it has a decently larger amount of bandwidth available while only being VERY slightly slower latency.

Awesome info thanks for the clarification.

Don't buy from newegg my friend. They are located here in Los Angeles. When you RMA they send you refurbished hardware. If you buy a new product, sometimes they have been used and supposed to be new package. They send wrong products and used products. The right thing, Buy from Amazon my friend.

I'll check out Amazon thanks.

Eh, don't mind Tweakboy. He's a bit... confused.

I buy stuff from Newegg practically every week, and I've never gotten a "used" item, except for when I buy an "open box" motherboard occasionally. (And they all work fine, so far.)

Newegg has always been good for me. Just bought a full upgrade in July, no problem

Amazon is good too, I'm a member lol

Im not saying it happened to you Larry...But it has happened to couple people I know. It's the truth, Best place to buy stuff is www.amazon.com It has free shipping on most thing and has the best price out of any site in the net world. thx

Another tweakboy disaster.

If you want original, new stuff, buy from Newegg or Amazon direct.

If you want cheap chinese knockoff products and to be scammed, use the Amazon marketplace. You can use the Newegg marketplace, too.

Tweakboy doesn't read or comprehend facts. Nor do his friends. That's why they don't realize they're buying from ebay scammers using the Newegg or Amazon marketplace. Not Newegg directly.
