Which RAM for this setup?

Asus Striker Extreme
e4300 C2D
8800gts

I want to oc to at least 3.0 on air, but it seems that the memory is going to be the big determining factor in what I can do. What's the best RAM for this setup? (I'll be upgrading the cpu to the q6600 once the July 22nd price cuts hit, but until then...)

Also, for those who've done the BSEL trick on the e4300, does that change how you overclock the cpu?

Unless you plan to go WAY past 400 FSB with either CPU, any decent DDR800 memory should do well in that system.

I can't remember the oc you get from that trick.. i think it may be 2.7 ghz. First off, i have one of the newer e4300's (can't remember the bin) and i can't get it past 2.8 ghz on water, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for 3 ghz. If you live in the states, the crucial ballistix sticks are on sale at mmwave and newegg. Those are good modules, and they use Micron D9's. You could go for DD2-800 and use the link/sync method. Alternatively you could buy pc2-8500 (also on sale for 125$ w/ MIR) and hope to tighten the timiings at a low memory divider.

For example, i have the mushkin XP2-8500 with an e4300 and i am running them at DDR2-800 @ 3-3-3-9 2.3V. They use micron D9GMH chips.
