Which RAID controller to use?

My MB has an Intel ICH5R and a Promise PDC20378 controller, is one better than the other? I'll be setting up a RAID 0 config on an Asus P4C800E Deluxe MB with 2 Seagate Barricuda 200 GB HD's

Never heard of two SATA/RAID controllers on one mobo. I just can't see RAID 0 for anything - but, as long as your are bent on a high risk array, I would go with the Intel ICH5R.

The Promise may give you more options via stripe size on your arrays. CPU utilization and overall speed would be about the same with that board.

The Promise controller runs over the PCI bus, while the Intel RAID is part of the system chipset. Theoretically that means you get better performance with the Intel, since burst speeds would be limited by the PCI bus with the Promise controller, assuming the performance of the controllers themselves was equal, as well as the Promise chip having to compete for bandwidth with any other PCI devices you have.
