Which RAID card for a RAID 0. I do Video editing and do drive need to be the same??

Hey guys, I want a RAID card to strip two drives. I don't want to spend a lot on the card, but don't know much about the different ones. I hear some use more CPU power, but I've got a 3ghz P4 so hopefully that won't matter much.

Also I have an 80gig WD 8MB cache drive and want to buy this Maxtor 120gig 8MB cache drive. Is this a bad idea to strip these? Can i still use the extra 40 gigs?

It doesnt work that way,yo'll lose that 40 gig.

when you create the raid0 array you'll have 2X (smallest drive in arry).

Maybe sell the 80 gig & buy 2 x 120giggers. 🙂

Promise makes good cheap raid cards.
