Which Radeons include Half Life 2?

I was wondering which cards today come with HL2. I know about the built by ATI ones, but what about Powered by ATI, and what would give me the best bang for the buck with at least 9600 Pro performance?

Thanks

9600XT. I wouldn't base too much of the purchase on HL2, though, because rumour says it's been delayed to September.

that rumor is based on one game retailer pushing their expected date back because there is no confirmed date for them to go by at this point. hardly anything to go by although theres always plenty of morons on the internet who love to spread bs.

Were we supposed to receive something in the mail or by email for HL2? I bought a 9800 Pro about 2 months ago, sent in the HL2 coupon, but haven't heard a damn thing back from them yet. Anyone know how this works yet?

HL2 hasn't been released yet, so it's a bit hard for them to tell you anything about it.

The ones with the HL2 sticker on their box. Generally most retail XT's do (9600XT and 9800XT).

The cheapest 9600XT w/HL2 included (try checking NewEgg, AllStarshop, ZipZoomFly, and Mwave, or just search with PriceGrabber or the like), though don't expect to play at much above 1024x768 with high framerates on that card.

No, they don't. Only the All-In-Wonder 9600 Pro and 9600XT have the voucher.

The only card that includED a coupon for HL2 are 9600XT. And that's only if you purchased the card before midnight 12/31/2003. If you buy a 9600XT today and it does not have HL2 on the box, then you are NOT eligible for a coupon.

Seriously? I could have sworn I saw a 9600AIW the other day with HL2... I could be wrong...

Some ATI cards, some HIS Radeons, some Sapphire Radeons, and probably others. When you go to buy a Radeon, look for the mention of it on the retail box.

Yes, definately. If it doesn't say so on the box, it won't have half-life, since if they have it they would advertise it as a big selling point.

heh, I got a little lucky with mine. I remember the original thread in the hot deals forum about anyone that bought a high end ATI card (9800xt, 9800pro, 9600xt, 9600pro, etc.) got HL2 coupons. I also remember ATI changing it's policy/promotion or whatever to just 9800xt's and 9600xt's. My local BestBuy still has the original promotion sticker up, which says "Buy a 9800xt/9800pro/etc." and get HL2 free! Expires 1/24/04.

I bought my 9800pro from BB, and it didn't have a sticker on the front... no mention of it anywhere. I took the promotion sticker thing, showed it to the sales person, and he called every BB around asking if any of their 9800 pro boxes had the HL2 stickers on them. Of course none of them did. He tells me well you can try calling ATI, since it's an ATI promotion, and then tried to feed me some BS excuse about limited quantities or whatever, at which point I got mad becuase it says nothing about "while supplies last" or "promotion may change without notice" on the card. Told the guy, if ATI changed it's promotion, then you should have changed the card, because I bought the 9800pro with the intention of recieving HL2. Call manager over, I explain my story again, manager looks at the 9800pro box, see's what i'm talking about, another manager tries to say, well just go to their website, put in your UPC code, and you can download it! I almost laughed at that, but I managed to control myself. Manager finally takes the promotion card and writes an IOU a free copy of HL2 when it comes out, signed it, gave me business card, and off I went.

Sorry for the brag but BestBuy is one store that I will never have trouble trying to get more then my money's worth.

Whoops, I forgot that some ATi and Asus 9200SEs and 9600SEs also included HL2.

Nice deal, Popper. You're one up on the rest of them as you'll get a nice retail box with CDs.

Depends on how much FPS you want. 1024x768 should be "playable" on a 9600 Pro with "medium" settings(maybe), the 9800 Pro might be "playable" at same resolution at "high" settings. This assumes low fps being around 30ish and could be way off. :)

Seeing as how you MIGHT have to wait as long as September to play it, I wouldn't worry about it now since for the price of a 9600XT right now, you can probably get a 9800 Pro when HL2 is actually released.
