At first glance, the answer seem obvious. Of course you would take Vick, canon arm, runs like a gazzelle, and already considered the most exciting player in the league.
Vick is the master of the big mistake. Today, he fumbled the ball three times (lost two) and threw an interception that setup a short Lions TD. Coming into today he has average of a fumble lost a game over his career.
Harrington isn't nearly as flashy as Vick and he will never make a Pro bowl ahead of Vick, but he is a better QB. He doesn't make the huge mistake (this year he has 7 TDs to 2 INTs) playing the entire season without Charles Rogers.
I can't understand how anyone who saw the game today can pick Vick over Harrington. Vick was constantly missing recivers by a mile, he was taking way too many hits (his career is going to be real short if doesn't start getting rid of the dang ball), and he was, as stated above, turning the ball over.
The worst thing Harrington did today was miss two passes because of poor throws.
Vick will win you a few games with his extrodinary talent, but he will also lose you a few games with his extrodinary ability to make a mistake. He is the kind of QB that will never win the super bowl because he is too damn inconcistent. Harrington on the other hand is not the kind of guy to throw for 400 yards and 5 TDs he will let his teamates win the game and he will make some big plays when it counts.
Outside of the QBs, the Falcons had, by far, superior offensive talent out on the field.
Dunn/Duckett >>> Pinner/Bryson
Price/White/Finneran >>> Williams (injured for most of 2nd half)/Streets/Hakim
Cumpler >>> Alexander
Yet harrington had a better game and has had a better year statistically than Vick. Vick hasn't been very effective playing a few week teams early in the season. Atlanta will prob make the playoffs, their division is a joke, but I can't expect them to go far with the human turnover machine at QB.
