Received a gift card from work and was thinking of upgrading my PSU.
Currently running an AMD 3600X2, 7800gt, 1 SATA DVD drive, 2 gigs of RAM and 2 HDD's with a Thermaltake TR2-430.

Planning an upgrade to 4 gigs, another DVD drive and an ATI3850 in a few weeks.
Do i need to upgrade my current PSU? Will it be adequate to power the upgraded system?

Intend to do some gaming (COD4, Bioshock and CS Source).

And if i need to upgrade what would be the best one to purchase on the above mentioned PSU's?

I necissarily think you "need" to upgrade your psu but, it's never a bad thing. Most power supplies have peak efficiency at about 50% so oversizing sure can't hurt anything but your wallet. IMHO getting the 450vx wouldn't be much of an upgrade and really not worth bothering on.

There's a great deal on the PCP&C 750 right now at the egg if your gift card will work there. $150 for a high quality 750 is practically thievery.
