I was planning to build new computer after Christmas, but I dont really know which power supply should I get and no plan OC setting.

Case: Antec 900 5x120mm fans, 1x200mm fan totally 6 fans.
CPU: Quad Core Q6600 G0 Step 2.4Ghz
MB: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L
Mem: 2GB but undecided which brand.
HDD: 2x320GB Maxtor
Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2.0 24bit which I get 7 years ago
1 DVD Drive 1 DVD Burner so totally: 2 Drive
1 Floopy Drive
Graphic Card: PNY 8600GTS

Here is my other concern, because maybe later in future my 8600GTS and Mobo die off and I was plan to get upper powerful graphic card and Mobo which PSU should I get for now and pre-later on 520HX or 620HX. Btw does anyone have any suggested which memory should I get for DS3L? 1.8v or 2.1v 4-4-4 or 5-5-5 timing?

520hx is plenty of power, even if you decide to get the highest-end videocard in the future.

I would get whatever good quality RAM is least expensive. If it's rated to run at 1.8V at 5-5-5 or better timings, go for it.

By the way, what is this computer going to be used for? If you want to play games, you're better off skipping the Q6600 and putting the savings into the video card instead. (For most games anyway, but it depends on which titles exactly you want to play.)

Edit: And I agree with MarcVenice, the 520HX will be plenty, even several years down the road.

If you want to play newer games like COD4, you're probably best off getting an 8800GT or HD38x0. You could skimp on the video card a little bit if most of your games are older like HL2/Doom 3, but again you're probably wasting money on the quad unless you have some particularly parallel programs you run.

It's up to you, but personally I went with the CORSAIR 520HX. It's good enough for most rigs. BTW, you'll love it. It barely makes a sound and is sexy to look at.

or if you need to save a buck the 450 VX is more than adequate for your rig

though if you can afford the HX 520 go for it,

3x 12V rails rated at 18Amps each, gives you options for SLI and lots of other goodies.

Get a video card like the HD 3850, it's $160-180 and performs as well as the old 8800GTS. The 8600 series is a rip-off, especially the 8600GTS.

I have the Corsair 520HX and I think it crapped out on me after just over a year. Won't power up my PC with the video card installed, even with the new video card installed, actually both my fans accelerate and decelerate everytime I get the fast continuous beeps. According to AMI BIOS it is a power problem. This is my rig, I ordered a Thermaltake W0106RU Complies with ATX 12V 2.2 & EPS 12V version 700W Power Supply from newegg. I also requested an RMA for the Corsair.

BenQ FP202W
GIGABYTE GA-M59SLI-S5 AM2 NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard
CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply - Retail
old video card, BIOSTAR V7602GS51 GeForce 7600GS 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card, new is new one is an XFX 7950GT
Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ Windsor 2.2GHz Socket AM2 89W Dual-Core Processor
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel

Every brand has a some that just don`t work out.
Thats why you can RMA PSU`s....
I have heard of Zippy`s going bad and PC Power & Cooling PSU`s going bad along with Corsair PSU`s.....
But the % of RMA for your better quality units is lower than for your mediocre units!!

Good Luck!!
