I have decide to get either the OCZ Powerstream or the Modstream...
But what is the difference between the two other than price...
It will be powering a A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard...
Of which I will be OCing CPU and RAM at least...
So power is a concern for me especially since I know next to nothing on them...

Powerstream is built for overclockers/power users -- high power, high ratings for rails, very efficient psu (rarely, if ever do rails dip), adjustable pots for the power hungry who crave over 12v on their +12v rail

Modstream is built for casemodders -- not quite as powerful as powerstream (no adjustable pots, rails sometimes dip), but modular power supply design enables clean cabling and 120mm fan ensures quiet operation

My tests on the Powerstream let me down on the 12V rail by giving me only 12.27V. This is well below the 12.6V maximum prescribed by the ATX spec, but its also less accurate than the voltages delivered by power supplies such as Antec's Neo Power and PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool. The Powerstream 520A will set you back about $130, while the Antec NeoPower is about $150 and the PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool is around $220. Both Antec and PC Power have thier perks. PC Power is known for their voltage regulation to within 1% of spec, sleeved power cables, and adjustable voltage pots for overclockers. But it lacks modular power cables and thermally monitored fan-only power connectors, both of which Antec's Neo Power has. Hope this helps and good luck with your purchase :)

I'm about to build a new computer too and going through the same problem. For a while I thought I would get the Powerstream model, but now I'm looking at the Modstream model.

I'm may or may not try overclocking this new computer I'm building, but if I do overclock I won't go crazy and will probaly only try to go for at most an extra 200 mhz on the cpu, no more than that. I'm a noob to overclocking so I won't be trying for a while. Do you guys think the Modstream would be alright for a small overclock?

That's right about where I am...
My problem is that with the parts I want and already have I can't afford the most expesive PSU...
So I have really been looking at everyone I can find...
And so far these look to be about what I want and need especially price wise...
