The Corsair uses ribbon-style cables, while the Seasonic uses traditiona style sleeved cables.

The specs and price are nearly identical and both are made by the same manufacturer, so either one is a very good choice. Simply decide which cable set you like best, then choose that one.

I seriously doubt its quite that simple.............

Corsair has a good rep for supporting its products and has a slightly longer warrenty and appears to be a bit cheaper, in this case as both are based on the same Seasonic M12 Platform with just minor differences I'd go w/ the cheaper of the 2 units you can't really go wrong w/ either of them.

Why is that? They're damn near the same PSU except for the cables.

well you just answered my question.....when you said "damn near the same"....
I am sorry if you honestly believe that the Corsair because it is made by Seasonic deserves the same reputation that a seasonic PSU deserves.

You just cannot assume that all things are nearly equal.....

Which gets us back to the old argument are the rebadged PSU`s made entirely at the factory?
Are rebadged PSU`s made by Seasonic packed with the same qaulity parts as Seasonic uses in their PSU`s??

It`s a very safe bet probably not.....

Wonder who the OEM is for Antec;)........I rest my cas..lol

Yes I realize that Seasonic now makes Antecs (at a completely diffrerent price point though), so you do have a point. But from reviews, we know the Corsair is of very high quality, while Antec's are definitely not the same.

JG says he just got a Seasonic M-12, so I guess I'll just wait for his review and then see how it compares to his Corsair review. My guess is that when he opens them up they look quite similar, but you're correct, that's just a guess at this point.

OP, just flip a coin over these two. Either one is better than the pcp&c 610 Silencer that
is built by Seasonic :p

Let us know what the buy is.

I think it depends on who is contracting Seasonic for the parts. If I remember correctly when opened up, the Seasonic made Antecs feature cheaper less reliable caps than those made by Seasonic (hence the lower price). After JG reviews the M12 we can see how much difference there is in this case with the internal parts used, instead of your incessant innuendo without basis in fact (at least you've never shown any).

I now hate you all! :Q

I wasn't considering a new supply but my new Antec NeoPower 480 (non HE version) is making an "electronic buzzing" sound. I went searching for the cheapest M12 and found it for around $133 at Stockthat.com. I placed in the cart and created an account and abandoned the idea. They sent me a coupon for 6% off because I had items in cart and didn't purchase. Around $125 now after coupon with $7.xx for shipping.

Curses you all for making me want to spend money.

I've got both the S12 Energy Plus 550 and the M12 500W in the cart. Trying to decide if the modular cables are worth the extra money of just get the extra 50 watts (cheaper too) and tie the cables up! :p

Well, I'm not one to worry too much about looks although airflow is nice...and I'm a real cheap bastard when it comes to money. I will say that too many time's I've bought on the cheap and turned around and wished that I would have went higher.

Decisions...decisions...

Wel, neither of these are cheap, so you don't have to worry about that. :)

Cheap being relative. I'm looking for ultra quiet on the cheap! :p

It's hard to actually tell if it's the Antec making the high pitched buzz or if it's something else in the PC because of the location (in between wall and desk). Anyway, that's another story and I really debated between Seasonic and the Antec but price won out. Now, after finally building it, looks like the Antec WHINE might end up as a Seasonic (and pray that there is no Whine from it).

Why is it incumbent on me to prove anything?
I think it would be incumbent upon those who use the aregument that Seasonic makes these PSU`s thus you might as well get the Seasonic because after all Seasonic is the OEM......
Which again you just proved my point...
I am beginning to like you...hehehe
If I remember correctly when opened up, the Seasonic made Antecs feature cheaper less reliable caps than those made by Seasonic (hence the lower price)

Or we could also say --- Seasonic is expensive hence the lower price on the Antec and other supposed PSU`s that Seasonic makes as an OEM.....

My incessant innuendos have stood the test of time..over and over....
Yet almost daily a case can be made supporting what I am always saying.....

Also just a note there are those who use facts and pictures and support what they say via visual proof such as jonnyGURU!!!

Also another point....Gee I am really liking you:) :) :) :)
Since its a proven fact..by your own admission that an OEM does use different quality CAPs and other parts could we also say that sort of blow the argument out of the water when people say...well PSU111 is made by Seasonic yet Seasonic also makes the Seasonic brand of PSU111 thus since the cheaper brand is made by Seasonic then perhaps we should get the cheaper PSU because after all its made by Seasonic???

Also its very possible for an OEM to be contracted to make a superior PSU than anything that the OEM uses.......

way too many possibilitys and way too many descent PSU`s to choose from......

Bottom Line as was said by on a different post ---

some will say this is the way it is....while others will say prove it....

well truth betold even if we are right....we cannot prove you wrong.....so it goes...round and round....

Well, just picked up the S12 energy plus 550 for $117 shipped. Should serve my needs "quietly" and "efficently" for the next few upgrades! :)
