i'm looking around for a new psu and narrowed it down to the corsair 520w and the enermax liberty 500w, both are modular which i like, but which one is more quiet and reliable?

While the Enermax Liberty is quiet, it isn't very powerful. Mine had problems running my X1900XT at 2D speeds, and would just shut off when trying to run it in 3D mode. The Corsair would be the better choice, I would think.

According to Silentpcreview.com the Corsair HX520 is quieter than the Liberty. Personally, I've been using the HX520 for a few weeks and have had no problems with it.

Regarding reliability - the Corsair power supply is built with industrial grade parts and it's heavy. I'd put my money on the HX520 as being more reliable.

The Liberty has two 12V rails with a total output current of 32A. The HX520 has three 12V rails with a total output current of 40A so it should not have any problem running a system with any current graphics card.

I have the Corasir 520w and an 8800GTX. No problems at all.
