After 20 years my Google photos maxed out my free space even after deleting unwanted stuff. Where are you all storing your photos? Looking for cheap options.

External HD. I don't use cloud backup. If I did, I'd be looking at backblaze.

Dropbox and google photos. Haven't reached the need to pay for more storage yet.

I was hosting a Plogger script on my own server for a while, but the software was buggy, if you tried to upload an image that was too big it just broke the whole database, so when I got a new camera this forced me to have to resize images and it was an extra step. I still have pictures hosted on there so that old links I've posted to forums over the years still work, but been meaning to replace it with something better and just never got around to it.

So for now I use Imgur, or upload direct to the forum, or to Reddit, Twitter or wherever I'm posting it.

Of course all my stuff is local too and backed up. For general purpose use I just use the file system, everything is just in folders that go by year and then have month folders within the year folders. If I have a bunch of pictures I take on a hike or something I might make a special folder for that within the month folder.

I should probably come up with a better system locally as sometimes I try to find a pic and spend lot of time doing it. If I built a gallery software I could setup keywords and have a search feature. If I do that I will probably set it up so it can also link to my online server and I can just check a box to make any picture available online, and it would upload it automatically. That would be cool to have.

Your cheapest option is probably paying Google a few bucks a month for extra space.

Yeah. At some point I may jump to iPhone but at the moment I make about $2 per month in Google Play credits from Google Opinion Rewards. The cheapest option at Google One is $2/month. Not sure if I can use the Google Play credits towards Google One. Never tried.

Onedrive (O365 family subscription) + external harddrive.

My children are too small to use it atm, but my wife also has it, and I don't think you get a better deal for 6X1TB online storage.

Google - $2/month or $20/yr for 100GB and you can share it across accounts.

Because I have a Pixel.

None anymore. I don't upload anything I don't have in my own data which is on my NAS, which I backup offsite occasionally. I have nothing in the cloud. If there is any, I don't care about it.
