the most i will do is forward a couple ports

never turn off AV. never put myself on DMZ.

I don't disable anything because restricted accounts + firewall is all you need.

You are able to run games and the majority of programs with a restricted account still? Please elaborate.. I should do that myself if it's not a terrible inconvenience.

I don't shut off anything since I don't have anything running in the first place.

I finally made the move to a seperate gaming computer. Its actually pretty nice.
Dont know what I'll do about HL2 though. I guess I'll have to get on long enough to download the BOT patch for CS:S and then never worry about it again.

I usually don't let an excessive ammount of crap run in the backround. A fresh boot only includes small things such as my AntiVir which doesn't consume enough resourses to bother dissabling.
