I have a 486SX w/ 16 megs of ram sitting around that I could put into service 😉. What would be the best thing to run on it? Right now it has Windows 95 OSR1 on it.
Nothing. I had a bunch of 486s and low end Pentium, too, and no project has timelines that allow. Plus the 486SX doesn't even have a math coprocessor. It's sad, but time for the recycle bin.
I remember I tried running RC-72 on it, but it was pretty brutally slow. I don't think I can install NT4 on there easily since the NIC is a pnp isa. Too bad it's pretty much useless 🙁. I tried putting another NIC in there to turn it into a router, but I can't get two of them to be recognized no matter what I do. I should setup my K6-2 400 though, I think it does a seti unit a day 😉
