Hi, I am going to get a new system.

I don't know if i should go with Intel this time or go with AMD.

Cuz i see so many people using AMD but i am a Intel user for at least 10 years.

Talking about gaming like Crysis, battlefield,, which kind of CPU should I be looking for? dual core?

Which motherboard should i go with, which exact model? I have so much good things from Asus, so i guess i like Asus if no other is better than this brand..

I think i am getting a 7900GT, cuz i am going to run a new 20" LCD at 1680*1050, so i need a fast video card at this resolution.

I need CPU, motherboard, Ram, videocard,
I will use some of the parts from my old system like the Audigy 2, harddrive, case speaker.

Can anyone gimme suggestions?

For a gaming rig go with AMD. Definately the 64 X2 (dual core) range.

Also, i recommend ATI for a gaming computer. The X1900 series is alot better value for money than the GeForce 7900~ series.

For a mobo Asus seem to be the biggest brand but if you plan to overclock then go for DFI. Infact, i think alot of people would recommend the Ultra-D. It's quite cheap. I have it and it's great.

As far as RAM goes, you'll be wanting 2Gb. I'm not really sure what the differences are between different brands, but when i asked alot of people recommended the OCZ Dual Channel Platinum Series (PC3200). I got that too but still i'm sure any 2Gb RAM would do. :D

And also, i might be wrong, but i believe if you switch from Intel to AMD then you need to buy a new hard drive (because obviously you'd be switching CPUs and Mobo's). But HDD's are very cheap anyway. At the very least you'd need a complete reformat.
