Which President was better for comedians, Dubya or Clinton?

No need for ideology here. Just a simple question on who you think the writers for Leno, Letterman, etc. had an easier time developing comedic material for 🙂

Clinton hands down. You can only make fun of stupidity so long. On SNL last night (a repeat of right before the election) they had behind the scenes coverage of the Philly rally where Clinton stole the show from Kerry. Classic stuff especially when he borrowed Clarence Clemons sax 🙂 The Smiegel cartoon was pretty good, too. Showed the pains and struggles McCain was going through preparing to introduce Bush at a rally.

I'm gonna say Clinton, but just because the jokes about handjobs and cigars were funnier, and didn't make me sad like bush jokes.

Exactly. Clinton jokes are funny, but they are often exaggerations. Bush jokes stem from actual quotes by the man. Most if not all were supposed to be serious. That's the sad part.

Both are funny, but Clinton jokes get the slight edge most of the time ^_^

Thought he 2000 presidential bash with bush's "Strategery" kept me laughing for like 5 minutes straight...

eh, what do I knw? They are both funny 😉 But it is true though that most of Bush's "jokes" are just kinda his own statements

I think comedy devours stupidity quicker than anything else. So Bush, obviously. 😉 Besides, it's harder to always make fun of people who can party and are down the ill nay-nay, that type is most likely having more fun the 98% of the rest of us. With Bush it's more poignant in a way because at times he appears to be mentally handicapped, and at the end of the day it's the deplorable humor that is the noteworthy humor.

SNL had some great Clinton sketches though.

It's easier to make non-partisan jokes about Cllinton.

Bush jokes tend to be for liberal ears only, except for the stupidity ones. And those have gotten kinda old.

I'd say its equal. I think the Bush jokes and acts became much less funny when Will Ferrell left SNL. These new guys who play Bush sUxor.

I don't see how either of them are funny because whether we live or not is up to them. Nothing is funny in life either.

I loved Bush, but now that I think about it, Clinton was easier. Everybody can laugh at a good Clinton joke, but tell a Bush joke around Bush supporters and you are bound to have some problems. Maybe it's the type of joke, or maybe conservatives just don't like humor. Whatever the case, it doesn't work too well. Plus, while you can make jokes about stuff Bush has done, the unspoken ending to them is usually, "...and then 2,000 people died." Kind of takes the fun out of it when current events surrounding the president are so much more serious.

You also have a right to love al gore, he is a good man. I really don't care anymore, it makes no difference who you love. What matters more is who is running this country right now, what he does to it.

The president does whatever he wants, even without our approval. He will find ways to convince us to wage war against any nation they hate most such as 911 event. Civilian lives are meaningless to them as what matters more is their goal and they must accomplish it through any means necessary.

Bush by far...

Humor is based on inconsistencies. Nothing is more inconsistent than a total idiot in the white house making the country's most important decisions.
