I have the following older parts that I replaced with my new system.

I was going to put this in another case and give to a friend, I am really not sure what PS i need, the one I was using was Corsair 750, and kept it with new system and was probably overkill for this.

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-DS3L
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
OCZ Platinum 4GB DDR2 1066
XFX GTX 260 OC
WD SE16 7200 RPM SATA 640 GB
SAMSUNG 22X SATA DVD Burner

I was hoping not to spend too much but want a quality one that will not die quickly.

Any suggestions?

I saw this coolermaster 460W was on sale for $30 but how is the quality? I never bought their PS only antec and corsair

Anandtech just did a review of inexpensive power supplies, have you read it yet? Linked from the front page.

You just need to check the motherboard to ensure the PS matches the required connections, but that's not so old that it should be a problem.

That's not even a very old system, PSU specs haven't changed much since Core 2 Duo times.

Elite Power 460W isn't capable of its rated power, and the efficiency sucks: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Cooler-Master-Elite-Power-460-W-Power-Supply-Review/1005/7

Doesn't the GTX 260 require 2x6-pin PCIe connectors? I'd get a decent 450-550W unit that comes with two so you don't have to use adapters. Can move it over to your next system.

Enermax NAXN 450W $51 shipped
Corsair CX500 V2 $52 ($42 AR) shipped
Seasonic M12II 520W $70 shipped
OCZ ZT550 $70 ($45 AR) shipped

I dont do any gaming hardly, but I like the Antec Basiq line of no frills power supplies. I would first look on the front page of newegg and see what is on sale for power supplies and see if you see an of the units in that review. Often they have something on sale around the 400-650 watt range.

Just look at the front page of newegg for things like

Corsair cx400 cx500? These are often on sale.

Antec Basiq 550 Looks very plain but I have good luck with this line of power supplies. Usually Antec puts these in cases when they sell them with a power supply. I have one that is about 480w in my Antec 300.

Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, Enermax, XFX, Silverstone make good PSUs. Some OCZ and PCP&C are decent too, but some are mediocre.

Thanks I will go with the corsair since I like their PS so far.
