If I want to block AOL Instant Messanger usage on my computer which port(s) do I need to block on my hardware firewall? Will this affect any other common non-messanger programs? Thanks...

5190-5193 TCP should take care of it. It wont affect anything else as those ports are registered to AOL only.

Yup, it can work on many ports. The best way to block it is to block access to 64.12.161.185 and 64.12.161.153, those are the 2 IP's it connects to(login.oscar.aol.com).

From what I have heard there are atleast 10 ip addresses they use. They sometimes switch them around and whatnot. I dont have a list of the offending ip addresses anymore though.
