How can you not know this?

so then what the hell is it? almighty infinite computer knowledge man

Jumpering green to black will turn on the supply, not the computer. sometimes you need to apply a load or the supply won't come on. a fan or old HD usually work.

8No8...Why such a comment? Did you know the answer when you first encountered a psu? While MOST of us know the answer, we are here to help those who don't. The answer is not obvious.

Hell. I get the question at least three times a day. Usually prefixed with "I think the three power supplies I bought are dead because when I flip the switch on the back they don't turn on!!!!!" 😀 😀

thanks guys. for some reason the psu i was usin didnt turn on when i connected anything to anything. its not dead, because its like new (came with my computer case) but i got an old one and it worked great. New problem... painted the faceplate of my dvd drive and took the tray out to paint it also. everything is perfect, got it back together, and now it doesnt want to open usually. Seems as though I put it back in and something isnt right. Im thinkin about just buyin a new one. (DVD-ROM drive)
