I'm entering a school contest (Reflections) in the visual arts and photography categories. For photography, I'm thinking of entering this picture, which was taken late this summer. The theme of the contest is, "I Wonder Why," and I'll be using death as my submission.
I put this picture through Photoshop and came up with two different color themes, the first one portraying death "how it really is" and adding a sense of realism and darkness to the picture, while the second one portrays death as sort of a "happy ending," with more vivid and warmer colors. Which one do you guys like better?
First one (cool colors)
Second one (warm colors)
Or, I can always do a diptych, combining them both into one composition, and using the prompt to question if death is a good or bad thing, or something along those lines. Hey that's not a bad idea...
Anyway feel free to add comments and constructive criticism. Please note that both pictures are resized for the internet and have not yet been cropped.
