Both unlocked.

Pros for G1:

Barcode scanner (shop savvy), faster CPU, bigger screen, Android (weak now but will expand in the future)

Cons for G1:

Ugly little chop at the bottom in the phone design. Looks like its broken and it irritates me. I know its made for convenience but still. Also the camera sucks. No flash, no video recording, no video player. Weaker battery life.

Pros for the HTC Pro Touch FUZE

Windows Mobile (love it), Camera + Flash, + Video Recording, Video player, already lots of apps that exist for WM6. Nice slick design. Stronger battery life.

Cons for the HTC Pro Touch FUZE

Smaller screen, doesn't have the Android open source, WM6 tends to be laggy, weaker processor.

I get both for $180. Which one?

Hmm. Yeah I know I posted here just so I can get responses at the moment. I have another long term thread in the Gadgets section. I just needed some fast answers now.

also, windows mobile 7 is supposedly nearing...would the HTC phones offer an upgrade to that? wouldn't be nice to be stuck with wm6 (i'm assuming you'll keep the phone for a few years)

You can unlock an iPhone relatively easily now. So if that was your only hangup about it, that might be something you can look into. Otherwise, ignore me

A coworker here has used both phones and he'd probably say the G1 (that's the one he still has).

However, if you're going to use it on AT&T, be prepared for EDGE only service.

I have G1 on T-mobile, and have had the HTC Mogul, and 3 older versions before that.
IMO wait for Android HW to get better, and stick with PPC's TOUCH is awesome.

Fuze. It's the HTC Touch Pro right? Yeah, definitely. The Touch Diamond already raped, so the Fuze is even better with a bigger battery. I would swap my N82 for that even if it's a camera downgrade.
