Which PC to install printer drivers on?

I have 2 PCs, PC 1 and PC 2. PC 1 is connected to my printer, and then PC 2 is connected to my PC 1 (it's all in a nice little home network) and therefore, printing in PC 2 requires that PC 1 be on, etc.

My question is: do I need to install printer drivers on PC 1 (only?) or both PCs, or only PC 2 (my main PC, really.)

Thanks in advance!:)

Hi, You will have to load drivers on both and set the one that has the printer for sharing. Right click the printer and set the sharing. Win 98 may also have to have the printer shareing set in NetWork Neighborhood. It's been a while so I may be a little off. Jim

You can install it on the one with the printer or both at the same time it doesn't matter since when you network the printer from the second PC, Windows XP will automatically grab the driver(s) from the first comptuter. I find that way easier instead of going through a lengthy setup. But if you want all that printer software on both computers, then go for the double install. Personally, I don't use that stuff.
