My Toshiba Satellite S154 did not come with an integrated Ethernet. This being my first laptop, I don't know what is best card to get. It have XP home installed. I believe I also need a cable plug-in for RJ45 jack.

Any opinions?

Thanks

I'd say that you'd be fine with just about any PC card, although you should look for a cardbus card as opposed to straight PCMCIA. Cardbus is the equivilent of PCI in a desktop system, and PCMCIA is ISA, so you'll be using less power, get more bandwidth, and have better performance with cardbus, although you might pay a little more. I say that just about any brand will do because I have an Actiontech intergrated LAN port and it works just fine. Linksys, D-Link, Netgear, Farralon, Cnet, 3Com, Zeus, Xircom, Ark; all of those will do what you need, just buy what you can afford.
