Which is the best Palm PDA to buy??

Palm Vx or Palm VIIx??
actually what is the difference between these two.

and where can I get them at low price??

the viix has built iun internet access

the vx is slim (.4 or .5" i forget) and has a rechargable battery

the iiic is color and has rechargable battery

the iiixe is what i own, .7" thick takes aaas

those are the only ones id consider

The wireless internet Palm VIIx is really more of a gimmick than it is useful. Not all cities are online, it costs a lot in per monthly charges, you can't view ALL web sites, only ones which are compatible to their "web clipping" technology. It just sucks!

You can get an EXCELLENT deal at Amazon with a $50 off $200 coupon (e-mail me) and they have free shipping on all electronics orders over $100 which ends today!

Here's what I recommend:
1) Read some reviews which can be found at CNET.com Epinions.com and more.
2) Buy either the $198.87 Handspring Visor Deluxe (which supports the Palm OS and runs ALL applications and comes with USB support right out of the box)
$349.00 Palm Vx
$149.00 Palm IIIxe

Probably your best bet is the Handspring Visor Deluxe, it's one awesome PDA with 8MB RAM and their expansion slot.

Vx... so small and nice looking. If you really need internet access you can get it later with that omnisky modem thing. You don't want that chunky palm VII. You don't need a built-in modem when you could get one that detaches from your Vx.

my sister just bought the Vx from amazon with the $50 off coupon. it came out to $349 i think.

Get either the:

Vx, this is the cool, small palm. The screen size IS a hair smaller that the III series. The thickness is were this palm shines though.

IIIc, the readablity of the screen is incredible. In bright AND especially low light conditions the color palm is perfect to work with.

I used to have the IIIxe, it was nice... but I really didn't like it in the lower light enviroment, the Indeglo style backlighting still didn't cut it, so when the perfect deal came along on the IIIc I jumped and have been happy ever since.

screw palm go with handspring...itll run all the same stuff as a palm and is better. on the extreme low end theres the visor w/2mb, next up is the visor deluxe w/8mb (i have this one). now for a bit cheeper than the palm Vx you can get a visor platnium which has a faster chip in it than any of the visors and i tihnk any of the palms too. then if you really want something nice get the visor prism with full 16-bit color...very sweet my friend has one and the color is amazing. In any case stick with handspring as dollar for dollar you'll get more than with palm. besides all the hadsprings have the springboard slot just incase you ever want to add someithng else on it (more RAM, pager, GPS, more coming out everyday)

There is a great deal for the IIIxe as previously mentioned. I just got one and it's awesome. The Handsprings are a good deal also and supposedly their warranty covers first time screen breaks.

Well, unless the something you want to add is an updated OS, in which case you are out of luck since it doesn't have any internal flash memory. Have fun when the 4.0 OS comes out (rumored in March with the release of the Vxc). Their web site says their OS is "fully upgradable via Springboard modules" -- wtf is that? When a new OS comes out, and all the Palm owners spend 5 mins upgrading their flash, the visor users will end up buying a springboard module to use the new OS. Hope you didn't have any other modules you were hoping to use.

In terms of the 16-bit color on the Visor Prism, there are only a very few number of programs that support this. Handspring had to bribe the few developers they did get (like for Zap!). Is an extra $200 worth the dozen or so programs that have slightly better color?

I have a PV. Whenever i wanna access the 'net (surf, check email) i just line it up with my Nokia 8290 (via IR) and dial-up. It's not the most elegant of solutions but it does get the job done.

I have the palm vii.. its convient for me to do what I do.
However I wish I had got more ram, and had color. Cant wait for someone to make one with color and Internet exlorer and wireless access.. all in a palm size & I will be the first to buy it.
