Looking at getting a paintball pistol as a backup gun. There's not too many out there, but I've narrowed it down to two. Which do you guys like better?

Tiberius Arms 8

32 Degrees Delta 68

The Tiberius costs more and only has an 8 round capacity, but I like the idea of the CO2 and paintballs being stored in a magazine you can replace and carry spare magazines.

The Delta 68 has a ten shot capacity, and the paintballs are stored in a magazine, but the CO2 is separate. It does cost about half what the other does, but it also looks like a bigger pistol with lots of sharp edges and things to get caught on.

Anyways, vote away!

Since this is going to be your backup pistol, your going to want to pull it fast. Havent shot either one but the Tiberius seems sleek enough to whip out quick.

I agree 100% with mattpegher. It is easier to carry and holster and can be taken out quick.

Too much going on with the Delta. The only time you'll really need your backup is usually for close-range when you can't use your rifle.

Check out the T68 Pistol.

It has good reviews.

Oh, and it's smooth.

Hey Edro, do you have one of those? Looks pretty good. I'm trying to get an idea of how big it is but it's hard to tell from the pics I've found. Can you post a pic of it with something to give me an idea of scale?

What sort of paintball are you playing where you need a backup pistol? I can understand a backup marker if your main one breaks or something and you're at the field, but it seems like a pack with pods of extra paintballs in it would make more sense than a pistol. Hell, if you're doing scenario games or something, you could even carry around an extra tank in the pack too.

In my experience though, even in scenario games, you'll generally be shot out before you run out of paint or air, so you can just run back, reload, and get back in.

What's your main marker? Do you even have room for a holster. With my tank and extra rounds on my waist there isn't much room for a pea-shooter. Still like the first peice, honestly though you have to fire them to be sure.

I like playing woodsball more than speedball mostly. I don't really do any of those scenario type games though. My thing is, I don't go out in a match with 6 tubes of balls strapped to my butt. I just use what's in my hopper and refill after every match. There's a certain logic to the whole I'm gonna strap a case of balls to my body and just put as much paint in the air as possible, but I can't justify wasting paint that way. I prefer to conserve my ammo and pick my shots. Plus I can move a lot faster than these rich boys that can afford to blast away with their autocockers.
I do on occasion run out of balls, and in those instances I usually just make a suicidal dash for the other side of the field. Never works though, lol. Having a pistol with a spare mag would probably be worth the extra weight, if I can get close enough to use it. With woodsball it's not that uncommon that you do get close. It would probably make more sense to just have one spare tube, but I like the idea of having a second gun ready to go should I run out and my opponents coming running up to bunker me.

Edit: My main marker is a Kingman Spyder Agressor XT. It's getting pretty old now. Got it about three or four years ago. It was originally just the mechanical style trigger, but I upgraded the trigger to an electronic one so I could fire faster. Also bought the longer Dye barrell for it. The original barrell was 9 or 10in and the new one extends it to 14. Definitely helps the accuracy.

that Tiberius looks similar to one a friend of mine bought like 6 years or so.

His was clear lexan, it took basically a cigar style tube for the paintbals that you slid in the back, and took co2 cartridges.

I have never been able to find the marker online though.

Your never going to be able to compare a pistol to any of the better markers, use the pistol for when your primary marker jams but better to buy a bigger hopper or at least carry another 50 rounds. You wont have more than that with the secondary anyway.

My problem is freezing up secondary to rapid fire, now using pocket warmers to keep the tank from freezing.

Mostly though the pistol should be fun to play around with, esp at home.
