Which P4 should I get with my setup?

Here is what I have:

ABIT TH7-II
Kingston RDRAM PC800 512mb (2)

I've tried to overclock an 1.6A, and it didn't do too well. I was able to run it at 133FSB, with RDRAM at 3x instead of 4x. I don't think the Kingston overclocks well. I want to keep this setup because I have 1GB of RDRAM. So what processor should I get? I don't think I am going to overclock it much, if at all. I will be in the range of $150-$200. Would my system specs benefit more from a 400MHz P4 or a 533MHz P4? I'm looking to get a 2.4GHz, or something around that price range. Your recommendation is appreciate it! Thanks!

I would get the 2.4b (about $195, some with free shipping such as newegg). They also had a refurbished one for $174, but that didn't come with the heatsink.

Wait until you can get a 2.2a with the C1 stepping, and you'll be almost guaranteed an overclock to 2.926GHz on stock cooling by simply increasing the FSB to 133MHz.

i would stay away from any suggestion of getting a refurb........good chance it was returned for lack of overclocking ability

What Intel does when they have new steppings is to clear out their old inventory first. Should be out in november. Be sure to verbally call whoever you buy it from to insure you have a P4 with the new steppings.
