Which P3 is faster...

Like the title says, are a 450mhz P3 with 512 cache and a 800mhz P3 with 256 cache closer in performance than their clock speeds indicate? Would the 800mhz (with 133fsb vs 100fsb) be a no-brainer?

the 450 has half-speed cache and is the [ Deschutes ] design. The 800 is the next-generation coppermine design with full-speed cache as well as the FSB jump. Definitely a no-brainer.

Actually, it's a [ Katmai ] design. 😉

Dagnabit! I'd thought Klamath, went to look it up, and only found the Deschutes core name for (P2) 450s. Oh well, it has been a few years 🙂
