Which OS (XP, 2000, ME, 98, DOS...Linux) would a DC client run fastest on?

Or does it matter. My main machines are running XP. Just curious if a DC client such as Distributed Folding would run faster (rack up more work units) under one of these other OS's
 
I'm thinkin' you would loose more structures during the time you are switching than the switch will buy you back.
