Which OS to install.,....

I currently am running Vista Home 32 bit.

My wife has windows 7 - 64 bit and I just love windows 7.

Which OS -- windows 7...32 bit or 64 bit?

Or can I even install a 64 bit system over a 32 bit system?

You can't do an in-place upgrade of the x64 version. But you should be doing a clean install anyways... 🙂

My view: if your hardware has x64 drivers, and you don't have any DOS/16-bit software, then you should run x64. Including on machines with 2-4GB of RAM...

Having used XP extensively, 7 for a decently long time at work and home, and 8 only recently playing around... I'd suggest getting in on the cheap Windows 8 deal before that price runs out this month, and doing a few simple things to make it mimic the 7 interface (which you can read about extensively here).
