Based on my system specs in my sig, which Windows OS would be the best to purchase if I'm an solely a gamer? Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

What advantage does this offer him over xp 32 other than the x64 "patch" for about 3 games?

If there are 3 patches now there will be more later. And with his hardware there is no disadvantage.

I've read some scary user reviews regarding xp64 as far as games go. Lots of crashes, video drivers not working correct, BSOD's, etc.

I might just go with xp pro 32 to be on safe side. They are relatively the same price.

Another vote for Home.
Am sorry I spent the money for Pro. I really dont think I've used the advanced features to make the money worthwhile.

About the most complicated thing I've done is LAN two computers together in my house and all they do is share drives with each other.

XP Pro.

Because chances are you won't stay just with gaming (like if the other computer fries and you need to rebuild a new one, and need drivers and networking to move files from old computer to the new one).

Better insurance, too.
