Which OS Of These Two Is "Best" For My Purpose?

I am looking at getting either Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Microsoft Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. I have a single core Athlon 64 processor, and I probably won't build another computer until I move and Vista has hopefully stabilized. 😛

The most intensive thing I will likely be using the machine for is games, so if there are compatibility problems and such I would want to go with Media Center. If everything runs fine under x64, I am tempted to get that one if there are some Distributed Computing applications that could take advantage of it.
