Well actually XP is part of the NT family while 98/ME are parts of the 9x family(or DOS /w builtin GUI family perhaps), so version numbers dont compare too well.XP = Windows version 5

your right, I am comparing a NT based OS to a 9x based OS, however if you note that the kernel of all the 9x OS's are in version 4 and than compare them to NT 4 it is no contest, and that's where I was going with that.Originally posted by: Sunner

You'll find some of the 9x OS's to be a tad faster but you'll need a benchmark to tell the difference (naked eye won't) The NT OS's are nice and stable, but NT itself suxors for games mostly.
