Hi,
I currently have Windows 95 and am thinking about upgrading to newer OS.
What would be the most stable OS??
The pc is for kids' school work, internet, and yes games. My kids start to play graphic intensive games, I think. They are also doing web designing and lots of music compositions on pc. (http://www.geocities.com/cerup2/ if interested, make sure to sign the gestbook)

Here is my pc's spec.

Cel 566@954 (overclocked)
64MB (am going to add 128MB PC100 soon, so total 192MB or at least 128MB if I get just another 64MB)
ATI 8mb AGP video card - forgot the model
Sound Blaster PCI 128
10GB of IBM disk
and Windows 95B

While Win2k is the most stable, it might be too much for a kids PC. I would recommend Win98SE.

If you want your kid to become computer wiz by the time he/she is grown then start them up with Linux. It's a very stable OS. There are also many popular games available or are becoming available for Linux. BTW, most Linux distributions come with lots of little games and necessary applications prepackaged. so you don't have to waste extra money on those programs.
