Hello,

I just got a sharp actius ultraportable, which is 366 mhz, 128 mb ram. I use it mostly for word processing, and internet browsing, but I would also like to occasionally play mp3s and edit photos and do graphic work(like photoshop).

If I were to go the Windows route, which OS would be better, in other words, faster, without taking too many resources. I know 2k is more stable, but I am not sure if it would be slower than 98.

And also, I dont know a alot about linux at all, but I was interested in the benefits of it, and was wondering if it would run faster with my laptop, and if it could handle things such as graphics editing pretty well. I really dont know a lot about the OS in particular, so help me out! what are the benefits of it over Windows?????

Thanks!

I've not compared Win2k directly to Win98, but I do know that on one particular HP Crapvilion, Windows 2000 Pro was a lot faster than WinME, which means that it's relatively equal to, or maybe just slightly slower than Windows 98SE in speed.
