Which OS for A home server

I have a old Dual 800P3 that i want to use as a file server im gonna have 2 or 3 Hds on HD1 im gonna have the OS with Office and other apps that im gonna serve to my other PC's and HD 2 will be Mp3's and HD 3 will be my download dump.

i want to be able to map a network drive so it will be easily accesible on my desktop

oh lastly i dont know if this will be a ftp server issue but i want to allocate like 2 gigs of hd space to my friends for storage
