I just bought a Dell Latidtude LM133 from the for sale section to use for email and to tune my drag car (Electromotive TEC II) with. I'll be doing a wirless network to share a DSL connection in the house/garage, or maybe wired since I did use individual cat5 runs to each phone jack in the house/shop. The program I use for my car is actually a DOS program, but I will be upgrading that to their "newer" windows based program.

The laptop currently has 24m of ram :( and a 2.1g HD.

Looking for an "slim" OS. I am using Win2000 Pro on my desk top.

thanks

Thanks. The person I bought it from had 98 lite on it and said it was ok. I might just go with what ever I can find easily/cheaply. :) I'll probably bump the ram up to the max also. (72megs)

I just opened the box and already I am thinking of upgrades. :)

Win 98 SE would be my choice if you get more memory. 64MB would be plenty. Win95 is just too old, I'd only use that on P100 or slower.

Turbopit, go w/ Win95, it ran quite well when it came pre-loaded on my old P133, hope this helps.

I have an old NEC P133, 32Mb RAM laptop that I played with back in the day. It ended up with 98lite (the version that uses the Win95 explorer shell - no quick-launch toolbar etc.). I did lots of memory tweaks and such and got it to run pretty well. I also tried 95 and 3.1 on it. 95 didn't run any faster than 98lite so I'd say go with 98lite.
